Our volunteering and fundraising activities are helping to unlock the potential of thousands of people worldwide.

Engaging with our communities through colleague volunteering and charitable giving is an important part of our culture.

Charity partnerships

Our charity partners for 2022-24, nominated and voted for by colleagues:

  • Book Aid International - sends books to libraries, schools, prisons, hospitals, universities and refugee camps in over 25 countries
  • Centre 33 - provides support to young people with their mental health, caring responsibilities, housing, sexual health and more
  • North East Autism Society - helps autistic young people fulfil their potential by providing care and education
  • Positive Youth Foundation - raises aspirations and life chances of 8-25-year-olds, including looked after children and newly arrived refugees

Corporate volunteering

Our colleagues are provided with corporate volunteering opportunities, whereby they can take two days of paid volunteering leave every year and are encouraged to give their time and skills to support their local communities.

In 2022-23, more than 500 colleagues volunteered nearly 2,800 hours to a variety of projects. This included nearly 630 hours to environmental activities.

Working with ChildHope Philippines Foundation to engage street children in storytelling and colouring activities.

South Africa

For Mandela Day, we partnered with Ladles of Love for a world record, with 40 colleagues crafting toys and books.

Reading support in primary schools and delivering food during school holidays.

Ten-years of support for Suny Westchester Community College.

The Cambridge Day series: a free event for English language teachers that has run for over 20 years.
