I am not a researcher or specialist in this field, though I do have a long time interest in the nature of intelligence--- both human intelligence and machine capabilities aiming towards intelligence. I find this book a pleasure and joy to read through. The endorsement comments made by the prominent academics are spot on. This two volume set is beautifully crafted and curated. Every article is well written and well organized. It is easy to skip around to find the chapters or sections within chapters that the reader may be particularly interested in or want to skip over. Creating this updated 2nd edition was obviously an incredibly large labor of love by Professor Sternberg. Everyone interested in the nature of intelligence-- from academic researchers who specialize in the area to non-specialist who want to understand and follow these developments--- is fortunate that Professor Sternberg worked with all the co-authors to produce this handbook.
