About the Authors
  • Reproductive aging is a natural and universal process. Women frequently overestimate the age at which a significant decline in fertility occurs as well as overestimate the success of assisted reproductive technologies to circumvent age-related infertility. Yet there is much that modern medicine can do to improve conception rates in women who delay childbearing and to manage subsequent pregnancies. This book offers guidance on winning strategies for maximizing the live-birth rate and limiting the risk for women trying to conceive later in life. It is intended to assist in navigating this challenging journey and lead to peace of mind that women have been seen, heard, and treated as individuals in the process. Written by leading experts addressing medical options of applying advanced reproductive technologies, psychological, nutritional, lifestyle, systematic approaches to optimizing fertility care for the most challenging demographic of women in a practical, clinically orientated, and most importantly, positive way.

    • Written by leading experts in fertility, this book rethinks and redefines 'fertility planning' to offer guidance on advanced reproductive technologies, psychological, nutritional, lifestyle, systematic approaches to optimizing fertility care for the most challenging demographic of women wishing to have a healthy baby
    • Goes beyond focussing on low success rates of fertility treatments and increased risks associated with pregnancy in this age group to present a compilation of the most successful clinical strategies for this demographic – an element of cultural innovation, taking a positive attitude towards engaging with these women and helping them and the medical teams caring for them
    • Includes chapters on patient support, patient experience and support systems in a holistic way – offering inspiration for patient experience architecture as a key element of patient care, fit for the 21st century

'This is a much-needed book for physicians and fellows working with the infertile patient over 40. It offers both a factual guide and review of the up-to-date literature on ART and pregnancy management of women over 40, which is a group that will only continue to grow as a part of our infertility practices.'
