This work, a companion to Professor Lambton's Persian Grammar (also available in a Students' edition), is intended mainly for the student of contemporary Persian. It will, however, also be a useful handbook for those who wish to read classical Persian literature. The Persian-English and English-Persian sections contain a wide range of the more common words and phrases.
Reviews & endorsements
'This volume … meets a need much felt by those who, after completing the grammatical study of the language, wish to tackle both the easier literary texts and to read the daily papers, and have need of a more convenient and more handy volume than those of the great dictionaries of Haim and the old but none the less useful one of Steingass.' East and West
See more reviews'This vocabulary, though originally designed as a companion volume to Dr Lambton' Persian Grammar, is in fact an independent work. Its Persian-English and English-Persian sections are complementary and represent a practical, concise record of modern Persian vocabulary such as can be found nowhere else at the present time.'
