    • Originally published in 1908 as part of the Pitt Press Series, this book by publisher and poet Frank Sidgwick gathers together the text of 34 traditional English and Scottish ballads for use in schools. Sidgwick also includes notes on each poem with translations for some of the more archaic words in the text and brief comparisons with songs and myths from other countries. This book will be of use to anyone with an interest in English and Scottish poetry or the history of British education.
