The topics covered include Italian flora and fauna, state religion, typical clothing, medicine, art, literature and law, all written by authors with academic experience in their particular field. The text is illustrated with a number of drawings and photographs of key sites and artefacts. This book will be of value to anyone with an interest in ancient history and the Romans.
