José De Espronceda (1808–42) was a poet and revolutionary considered to be among the foremost exponents of Spanish Romanticism. Originally published in 1837, and first made available as this Cambridge edition in 1922, El Estudiante de Salamanca is one of his key achievements. A highly innovative work, recasting the Don Juan legend with consummate artistic skill, it remains a landmark in Spanish literature. This well presented edition, in the original Spanish, will appeal to anyone with an interest in Romantic literature.
