First published in 1909, as the second edition of an 1898 original, this book forms part of the Cambridge Historical Series. The text presents a discussion of the main events and key phases in the process of Italian unification, beginning with discussion of the early uprisings and moving through to the establishment and development of the Italian Parliament. A detailed bibliography is also provided. This is a highly readable book that will be of value to anyone with an interest in historiography and approaches to nineteenth-century Italian history.
