    About the Authors
    • First published in 1927, this anthology was created to provide children from seven to eleven years of age with an introduction to poetry. At the time of its original publication, the selection was unusual for containing a high proportion of works by contemporary writers, together with numerous old favourites. Although poems do not appear in separate sections, they are carefully arranged so that a clear sense of continuity is provided. This volume will remain of value to younger readers and anyone with an interest in poetry anthologies.
